Ann is an associate of the Davis Brown Law Firm. She joined the Business Division in September 2011 and is a member of the Immigration Department. She is fluent in Spanish.

ACADEMICS
In 2011, Ann graduated with highest honors from Drake University Law
School. While at Drake, she earned first place in the Iowa Supreme Court
Writing Competition for her essay entitled The Postville Experiment: The Justice and Personal Cost of New Immigration Enforcement Strategies, which was published in the Iowa Lawyer in July 2009.
Ann earned a bachelor of arts degree with honors in global studies, and a minor in Spanish, from the University of Iowa in 1988. She was
also elected Phi Beta Kappa.
OF NOTE
Before joining Davis Brown, she worked for the American Friends Service Committee, a Quaker non-profit agency in Des Moines, for 12 years. There she was accredited by the Board of Immigration Appeals and provided immigration counseling to immigrants and refugees, represented immigrants before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service and acted as a translator and interpreter.

Ann and her husband, Oscar Porras, have two sons Etienne and Seth.
