Christopher is a shareholder of the Davis Brown Law Firm and a member of the Business Division. He maintains a general tax practice including, but not limited to, tax controversy, state and local taxation, international tax and federal tax. Christopher handles a wide range of corporate and administrative law matters. He has also served as an expert witness in civil matters involving questions of taxation.
Christopher
specializes in tax controversy matters with the Internal Revenue Service
and state and local governments. Prior to joining the Davis Brown Law
Firm, he was an assistant attorney general with the Iowa Department of
Justice where he represented the Iowa Department of Revenue. Christopher
was involved in a wide array of litigation involving large, national
companies to individual taxpayers.
Christopher is admitted to practice before the United States Tax
Court, US District Court – Southern District of Iowa and the US Court of
Appeals – 8th Circuit.

ACADEMICS
Christopher graduated with honors from Northwestern University Law School with a LL.M in tax law. While at Northwestern, he was selected to be a member of the Northwestern University Law School international tax law moot court team. He competed as a member of the team in a competition in Brussels, Belgium. In his studies, Christopher focused on tax litigation and state and local taxation.
Christopher graduated with honors from Drake Law School where he was an Opperman Scholar. While at Drake, in addition to being elected as Vice President of the Student Bar Association, he served as the Managing Editor of the Drake Journal of Agricultural Law.
Christopher received his bachelor's degree in Accounting, cum laude, from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro.
Community
Christopher enjoys community involvement and currently serves on the board of directors of My Angel Foundation and Iowa Sister States. He is also a member of the tax section of the American Bar Association, tax section of the Iowa Bar Association and is a member of the Polk County Bar Association. Christopher is a graduate of the 2011-2012 class of the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute (GDMLI).
PERSONAL
Christopher is from Greensboro, N.C. and is married to Jennifer James, an attorney. He enjoys golf, tennis, and playing the guitar.
