
The department represents clients in all aspects of construction law. Davis, Brown, Koehn, Shors & Roberts, P.C. represents clients in construction disputes in state and federal courts, as well as in AAA and private arbitration proceedings. Litigation matters include bid protests, contractor and designer claims for extras, architect and engineer malpractice claims and declaratory judgment actions on insurance coverage. Cases have included nuclear and coal-fired power plants, waste water treatment plants, commercial buildings, an airport runway, football stadiums, ethanol plants and a variety of agricultural facilities. Davis, Brown, Koehn, Shors & Roberts, P.C. drafts contracts for owners, architects and contractors, and provides advice during projects. The department also handles a number of related issues, including claims for defective work, personal injury suits, investigations concerning misapplication of government funds, mechanics’ liens and disputes with bonding companies over completion of projects in default.
