The Davis, Brown, Koehn, Shors & Roberts, P.C. real estate practice encompasses the range of transactions from A to Z (from abstracts to zoning). The department counsels clients in the acquisition, development, construction and sale of real property and related issues such as environmental law. Davis, Brown, Koehn, Shors & Roberts, P.C. advises clients in negotiating real estate purchases and sales, securing development and permanent financing, drafting and reviewing loan applications and loan documents. The firm also conducts title examinations and drafts development and developer agreements, construction contracts and management and lease agreements. Through the Public Finance Department, the firm acts as bond counsel in the issuance of private purpose, industrial revenue bonds to finance commercial projects. Clients include developers, banks, insurance companies, mortgage companies, title companies, individual and commercial borrowers, landowners and tenants. The firm is general counsel to the Iowa Manufactured Housing Association and the Des Moines Metropolitan Planning Organization.
