Emily Harris and Courtney Strutt Todd Selected for "Forty Under 40" - January 23, 2013

Emily Harris and Courtney Strutt ToddDavis Brown attorneys Emily Harris and Courtney Strutt Todd were selected for the Des Moines Business Record's Forty Under 40 Awards. The awards, which recognize 40 local business leaders under the age of 40 for their career achievements and community involvement, will be presented at the 14th Annual Forty Under 40 Awards Presentation and Reception on Tuesday March 12, from 4-7 p.m.
 
Emily is a registered patent attorney at the Davis Brown. As a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property Department, her practice focuses on obtaining patent, trademark, and copyright protection for firm clients and providing litigation support to the intellectual property litigators. Emily has a passion for technology and advocates for startup businesses, especially in relation to intellectual property and cyberlaw matters. In addition, she is the co-founder of Davis Brown’s own startup business, The Start-Up Launchpad.

Courtney is a shareholder attorney and chair of the firm’s Tax Department. She practices primarily in the areas of tax and public finance, but also has a practice focused on general business matters, including but not limited to, forming all types of business entities and preparation and review of contracts and policies. In addition to her full-time practice, Courtney annually donates a minimum of 50 hours of her time to pro bono cases and in 2008, was recognized by the Polk County Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Project for providing more than 200 hours of pro bono legal service to individuals who cannot afford an attorney.
