Holly Logan, chair of the White Collar Criminal Defense and Internal Investigations department, participated in a Continuing Legal Education program for the Federal Public Defender Office for the Northern and Southern Districts of Iowa on Thursday, February 23.
Holly spoke on a panel, “Cost Effective Methods for Handling Large Volume Discovery Cases,” with F. Montgomery Brown from the F.M. Brown Law Firm, Gerald (Jake) Feuerhelm from the Feuerhelm Law Firm, and Steve Swift from Klinger, Robinson, and Ford. They discussed various types of data subject to discovery, the support systems available, techniques for managing the work, and case-budgeting techniques, among other topics.
The program was an opportunity for attorneys who work on cases where massive amounts of data are key to learn some best practices on how to manage. Other presentation topics included practical issues in discovery and suggestions for attorneys in handling these cases.
