Four Davis Brown attorneys presented at the April 5-6 Iowa Employment Conference at the Meadows Events and Conference Center. Over 500 people attended to learn more about labor and employment law, healthcare reform, immigration, employee benefits, and more.
Lori Chesser, chair of the Immigration department, presented, “Surviving the Fire Swamp: I-9s, immigration related anti-discrimination and unexpected challenges of unusual size.” In response to recent efforts by the federal government and its agencies, Lori also presented, along with Holly Logan, chair of the White Collar Criminal Defense and Internal Investigations department, “I-9 Compliance: How to Prepare for the New Enforcement Focus.”
Kelsey Crosse, an attorney in the Employment and Labor Law department, presented twice during the conference, “Social Media in the Workplace,” and with Deb Tharnish, “How to Tackle Tough FMLA Issues.”
In addition to presenting, Davis Brown was also a conference exhibitor. Attorneys Michele Brott, Sarah Franklin, and Maggie Hanson talked with attendees and answered questions at the exhibit.
