In April, litigation attorney Elizabeth Meyer was elected to serve as chair of the board of directors of Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa, a position she will hold through 2019. During her term, Elizabeth will continue to elevate the position of the organization in the community and develop a strong board with individuals committed to developing girls of courage, confidence, and character to be tomorrow’s leaders.
Elizabeth has been a member of the board since November 2011 and also serves on the finance committee. On the board, Elizabeth is able to lend her legal expertise to give back to the community and an organization she is passionate about.
Elizabeth joined Girl Scouts when she was in kindergarten and benefited greatly from her experiences -- developing leadership skills and learning about public service and environmental stewardship. She remembers developing a broad range of skills from orienteering and fire building to fine art appreciation as well as cultivating strong friendships in a supportive environment. Being on the board, she hopes to aid Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa in providing these same opportunities to girls in the program today.
