Amy M. Landwehr

CONCENTRATION

Amy is a shareholder of the Davis Brown Law Firm in the Immigration Division. Her practice encompasses Immigration Law, with a focus on Business Immigration.

SUMMARY

Her work includes counseling both employers and foreign nationals in obtaining temporary employment authorization, permanent residency, and citizenship. She specializes in technology and healthcare industries, but has experience with a variety of clientele, from families and start-up companies to Fortune 500 companies.

Her prior experience includes preparation of non-immigrant petitions for B-1, H-1B, H-2B, H-3, K-1, L-1, P-1, R-1, and TN; immigrant petitions, including family based, labor certifications, outstanding professors and researchers, and multinational executives and managers; consequences of corporate reorganizations and mergers, and name changes; immigrant and non-immigrant consular processing; I-9 counseling; Visa Screen issues for healthcare workers; and J-1 waivers, including Physicians under the Conrad 30 program. Amy also specializes in international adoptions, including the Hague Convention on Intercountry Adoptions.

ACADEMICS

Amy graduated cum laude from the University of Central Florida, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 1996. She attended the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law, University of Louisville, graduating cum laude in 2001. While at U of L, she was a member of both the Brandeis Law Journal and the Journal of Law and Education, and active member of the Immigration Clinic.

PERSONAL 

Amy currently serves as an Advisory Board Member for the Hadiya Development and Rehabilitation Network (HDRN), a non-profit organization that provides services, financial resources, and educational opportunities to disadvantaged individuals and families in Ethiopia. From 2002 until 2007, Amy served as an Executive Board Member for the Lupus Foundation of America, Iowa Chapter.

Her interests also include international travel and spending time with her husband, Jeremy, and their children, Adrik and Amara.
