CONCENTRATION
John Pietila is a shareholder of the Davis Brown Law Firm and a member of the firm’s Business Division. He concentrates his practice primarily on business and regulatory matters, including business organizations and corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, business transactions, strategic joint ventures, commercial agreements, and regulatory compliance and policy issues in select industries.
SUMMARY
John provides strategic advice and assistance in managing a wide spectrum of legal and regulatory issues in the agribusiness, rural telecommunications, renewable energy and communications and media industries. He works extensively with independent telecommunications, cable television and broadband service providers and affiliated businesses in Iowa and throughout the Midwest. John’s work includes matters involving the Federal Communications Commission, Federal Trade Commission, Rural Utilities Service and the Iowa Utilities Board.

John is a frequent speaker on legal and policy issues involving his clients and the rural industries in which they operate.

John is a member of the Iowa Institute for Cooperatives, Iowa Telecommunications Association, Iowa Wind Energy Association, National Telecommunications Cooperative Association and Rural Iowa Independent Telecommunications Association.

John is a member of the United Way of Central Iowa Emerging Leaders Initiative and serves on the advisory committee for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Iowa.
