Lori Chesser is a senior shareholder and the chair of the firm's Immigration Department. As an immigration lawyer, Lori represents individuals and companies in employment-based immigration applications for both temporary and permanent positions, assists in making visa applications, trains and advises companies on I-9 compliance and audit response, and helps plan immigration strategy for business owners and entrepreneurs. She also assists in family-based immigration, including fiancé(e) visa applications and marriage-based and other family-related immigration issues. Finally, she advises clients on maintaining permanent residence and applying for naturalization, and works in conjunction with the firm's tax and estate planning departments to optimize immigration status for financial planning purposes.
Nikki is a shareholder of the Davis Brown Law Firm. She joined the Litigation Division in 2008 and maintains an immigration practice that includes removal/deportation, criminal law and family law matters. She has practiced in this area since graduating from law school. In 2012, Nikki was named to the Business Record's Forty Under 40 class.
Denise is Of Counsel to the Davis Brown Law Firm. She has a general practice in, but not limited to, immigration law. Denise's work includes assisting employers and foreign nationals with the permanent residency process. She does a significant amount of work on Labor Certifications and Immigrant Worker Petitions (I-140).
Elizabeth joined the Davis Brown Law Firm in January 2014 as an associate attorney. She is a multilingual immigration lawyer, who is fluent in Spanish and proficient in Italian. In the area of immigration law, Elizabeth's work includes deportation
defense, asylum, family-based immigrant and non-immigrant visas to
include Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS), Violence Against Women
Act (VAWA), and U-Visas for victims of violence. She also assists clients with family law matters including divorce, custody matters, and name changes.
Natalie Rivera is a paralegal who has worked at Davis Brown since 2006. She primarily handles family-based petitions, naturalization applications, consular processing, inadmissibility waivers, asylum and removal defense matters. Prior to joining the firm, Natalie was employed with Women's Initiative for Self-Employment in San Francisco, CA and spent a year in Brethren Volunteer Service at the Oakland Catholic Worker in Oakland, CA.
Jenna joined the firm in April of 2012 as an immigration paralegal. She primarily works with the employment-based side of immigration, covering PERMs, I-140 and National Interest Waiver petitions. On the non-employment side, she works with naturalizations.
Tiana has been with the firm since July 2012, transitioning from bilingual paralegal/administrative assistant to full paralegal in April of 2013. She mainly assists in the areas of temporary work visas, H-1B, TN, family and employment-based adjustments of status, employment authorization and advance parole card renewals and naturalizations. She also has personal experience dealing with the immigration process as a sponsor.
Sarah joined the firm in August of 2016 as an immigration paralegal. She assists primarily with employment-based immigration matters including temporary work visas, PERMs, and I-140s. She also works with family and employment-based adjustment of status.
Robin Harvey is an administrative assistant in the employment-based immigration practice. She supports Tiana Charles, Lori Chesser, Denise Claton, and Jenna Sharp. She is also our database guru. She has been with the firm since 2004.
Stacie has been with the firm for more than six years. In her role as an administrative assistant, she opens client case reports, does the billing and attorney time entry and keeps client contact information up-to-date.
