On Saturday, April 9, the Iowa Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) committee presented the Davis Brown Law Firm with the Pro Patria Award, the highest state-level award given to a civilian employer by the US Department of Defense, at the Annual ESGR Employer Recognition Banquet. The Firm was nominated by Major William P. Kelly, a JAG Officer and Davis Brown attorney currently serving in Afghanistan.

Each year, the award is given to an employer that has provided exceptional support of U.S. national defense through leadership practices and personnel policies supporting their employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve. Nationwide and the Buena County Sheriff's Office also received the award.

This is the second ESGR award the Firm has received. In 2007, Davis Brown was recognized with the "Above and Beyond" award.
