On Monday, Sept. 12, the Davis Brown Law Firm received an Iowa Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Governor's Award in a ceremony led by Governor Terry Branstad and Dick Rue, chairman of the Iowa Committee of the ESGR. The firm, one of three employers to receive the award, was nominated by Major William P. Kelly, a JAG Officer and Davis Brown attorney who recently returned from serving in Afghanistan.
Each year, the Iowa ESGR Governor's Award recognizes the exemplary ways Iowa employers support their National Guard and Reserve employees. Awards are given to employers in three categories: large employer, small employer and the public sector. Davis Brown received the award for small employer; Principal and the Buena Vista Sheriff's Office were also recognized.
This is the third ESGR award presented to the firm. Earlier this year, Davis Brown was recognized with the "Pro Patria" award and received the "Above and Beyond" award in 2007.
