Each year as part of the Food Bank of Iowa’s Combat Hunger campaign, Davis Brown internal teams compete to win the battle of donating the most to the Food Bank of Iowa.
In the campaign waged during November, the firm collected 13,861 diapers, hundreds of canned goods, dozens of boxes of cereal and oatmeal, and over 200 jars of peanut butter. The Food Bank of Iowa was also the firm’s charity of the month. Each month, all employees can wear jeans on a Thursday with a minimum cash donation to the charity. Through this special jeans day and the campaign efforts, over $2,500 cash was raised for the Food Bank as well.
The Food Bank of Iowa is a critical resource for people in central Iowa. The organization provides direct service food programs in schools and at mobile pantries and works with partner agencies to distribute resources. They also provide education and outreach programs.
Davis Brown has held this competition for 15 years, each year raising more in donations.
