Legal Issues Impacting Your Business
The New Market Tax Credits (NMTC) program played a significant role in the announcement of the new IBM technology service delivery center in Dubuque, Iowa on January 15, 2009 by Iowa Governor Chet Culver. The Davis Brown Law Firm and Iowa Community Development Corporation (ICD), managed by the Iowa Business Growth Company, were able to assist in the financing (in part) of this important new project creating 1,300 new high-tech jobs over the next 18 months.
The news of the announcement made headlines in media outlets across the nation including;
ICD received a $50 million award under the NMTC program on October 20, 2008. This follows ICD's 2006 allocation of $40 million.
