Rebecca N. Duffy

CONCENTRATION

Rebecca joined the Davis Brown Law Firm in 2015 as special counsel in the Litigation Division and primarily practices in the Workers’ Compensation department.

 

SUMMARY

Rebecca has significant experience in the area of workers’ compensation. Prior to joining Davis Brown, Rebecca worked in Nationwide Agribusiness Insurance Company’s workers’ compensation department. She handled litigated and non-litigated workers’ compensation claims, including claims with multi-million dollar exposure.  Her experience also includes alternative dispute resolution and conflict resolution. She settled more than 50 claims while at Nationwide Agribusiness.

  • Experienced in analyzing client risk exposure based on factual findings unique to each case
  • Vast experience with agricultural claims, ranging from field and grain elevator laborers to food processing and transportation  
  • Interprets medical evidence and assists with addressing claims related to workers’ compensation matters per American Medical Association guidelines, including permanent impairment, physical restrictions and return to work issues

Previously, Rebecca worked as an associate attorney at Gislason & Hunter, LLP in New Ulm, Minnesota, where her practice included tax and estate planning (including business and farm succession planning), as well as small business sales and acquisitions.  Rebecca served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Gayle Nelson Vogel of the Iowa Court of Appeals for one year following her law school graduation.
