Denise R. Claton
Denise is an immigration attorney with a business law background primarily focused on assisting employers and foreign nationals with the permanent residency process and immigration petition work. She helps U.S. employers within many different industries including but not limited to health care, insurance, finance, publishing, technology, marketing, education, energy, manufacturing (tire, tile, machines), and farming. Her work is focused on helping U.S. employers of all sizes keep valued workers beyond a temporary visa status through the highly complex and demanding permanent residency process.
When employers decide that a foreign national is needed in a position, they encounter numerous immigration law hurdles including prevailing wage determinations, domestic recruitment efforts, and documentation. Denise is able to assist employers with PERM Labor Certifications, compliance with immigration law, and any audits that arise. Following a successful PERM application, Denise assists employers with Immigrant Worker Petitions (I-140).
Denise is a Vice-Chair of the SC&RA Ladies Group and a past board member of the Greater Green Bay YMCA and past Iowa Vice-Chair of the Iowa/Nebraska American Immigration Lawyers Association Chapter. She also manages the Mayo High School Boys’ Soccer 9th grade, junior varsity, and varsity teams.
Denise has two teenage sons who are very active in club and high school soccer and hockey, so she and her husband spend a large portion of their free time at youth sporting events. She is active in her community and is a school volunteer. Denise enjoys exercising, spending time with her family and dog, and reading.
