Kacy L. Flaherty
Kacy is an associate litigation attorney primarily practicing in insurance defense working on various matters. She is admitted to and has experience before the U.S. District Courts of Northern Iowa and Southern Iowa.
She has bankruptcy experience advising clients throughout the bankruptcy process including analysis of contracts and deeds, lien security agreements, lease agreements, and purchase agreements. She represents clients in bankruptcy court at 341(a) hearings and meetings with the U.S. Trustee.
Kacy began her legal career at Bradshaw, Fowler, Proctor, & Fairgrave in Des Moines where she worked until she joined Davis Brown in 2020.

Kacy earned her Bachelor of Arts from Iowa State University where she studied political science and journalism and graduated cum laude. She was the President of the Panhellenic Community (2014-2015) and inducted into the Order of Omega Honor Society.
Kacy continued her education at Drake University earning her Juris Doctor from the Law School in 2018. She served on the Moot Court Board as Vice President (2017-2018) and was Junior Staff on the Drake Law Review. She volunteered with The Pro Bono Project (2016) and Drake Legal Clinic (2017) and also served as a research assistant to Professor Anthony Gaughan (2017-2018). Kacy graduated with high honors, was inducted into the Order of the Barristers, and received multiple awards for top grades.
Kacy interned with the Honorable Justice Zager on the Iowa Supreme Court during her third year of law school. She also clerked at the LaMarca Law Group.
Kacy is involved in the Polk County Women Attorneys and currently serves as Luncheon Co-Chair.
Kacy was raised in the Quad Cities. She currently resides in West Des Moines where she enjoys time with family.
