Earlier this year, Tom Houser marked one year of service as Chair of the Board of Directors of UnityPoint Health Foundation. He was originally elected to the board in 1998 and served 15 years before being elected president in 2014. Tom leads the group’s efforts to generate resources for the sustainability and advancement of healthcare in Des Moines and the surrounding communities. The board supports Methodist, Lutheran, Blank Children’s and Methodist West hospitals as well as the John Stoddard Cancer Center and Taylor House Hospice.
Over the past year, the UnityPoint Health Foundation has been working on an $14.3 million capital campaign for the new Emergency Department, which is the largest capital campaign in Foundation history.
In his legal practice, Tom works with clients to create comprehensive estate plans that accomplish their personal objectives in a tax efficient manner. He also works with individuals and business owners as they look toward the future.
