The Greater Des Moines Partnership will host “Immigration Day of Action” at Grand View University on Wednesday, August 3, 10 a.m.- 3 p.m.
Davis Brown Immigration Department Chair and Senior Shareholder Lori Chesser will moderate a panel discussion on the recommendations announced following the work of the Immigration Integration Initiative Task Force, a group which Lori chaired. The task force, formed in early 2016 in collaboration with the Partnership for a New American Economy (co-led by former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg), was charged with developing recommendations to help Des Moines attract a diverse workforce.
Immigration Day of Action is comprised of the panel discussion and an afternoon workshop on how business leaders can discuss immigration productively led by Wendy Feliz of the American Immigration Council.
