Bill Hanigan, agribusiness attorney, is quoted in an April 20 article in USA Today, “Is Wind Power Saving Rural Iowa or Wrecking It?”
The article discusses the increase in wind turbines on rural Iowa land. Iowa has grown to be first in the nation for wind energy as a share of total electricity generation.
Some Iowa landowners are happy for the income turbines on their property provides, as are the city and county governments that receive property taxes on the turbines, but some Iowa farmers see them as a nuisance.
Davis Brown attorney Bill Hanigan commented on the possible increase in nuisance complaints filed as more turbines are built across the state.
