Jodie McDougal, chair of Davis Brown’s construction law department, was recently appointed to a three-year term on the Construction Law Section Council by the president of the Iowa State Bar Association.
The council is responsible for keeping section members aware of changes in laws affecting the construction industry, drafting and/or proposing changes in legislation that may affect the construction industry, and hosting an annual CLE, among other activities.
The council is comprised of construction law attorneys from across Iowa active in advocating for their clients and educating other attorneys on the issues important to the industry.
Jodie is active within the construction industry, frequently presenting to contractors, builders, and design professionals on legal topics as well as authoring articles for industry publications. Jodie is known across the state for her knowledge of Iowa’s lien laws and for helping clients comply with the regulations imposed in 2013 and 2017.
