Jana Weiler, shareholder attorney in the Trusts and Estates department, was recently selected to join the inaugural class of the Heart of America Fellows Institute of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC).
The Heart of America Fellows Institute was created by ACTEC Fellows to develop the profession’s future leaders in trust and estate law through a series of in-depth educational presentations led by outstanding subject matter experts in each field from across the U.S. Participants are nominated an ACTEC Fellow and selected through a competitive application process.
In the program, Jana will participate in six sessions with 29 fellow attorneys from across the Midwest (Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma) between November 2019 and May 2019. These sessions will deepen participants’ knowledge of key topics including estate planning, wealth transfer strategies, estate and trust administration, estate and trust litigation, fiduciary taxation, and estate and gift tax returns.
The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel is a national organization of lawyers elected to membership by demonstrating the highest level of integrity, commitment to the profession, competence and experience as trust and estate counselors.
