This week, Davis Brown sponsored two candidate forums at the Greater Des Moines Partnership.
The candidate forums were moderated by Davis Brown attorney Tim Coonan and featured Congressman David Young, running for re-election in Iowa’s 3rd Congressional District and Congressman Dave Loebsack, running for re-election in Iowa’s 2nd Congressional District.
Both candidates have challengers in their race who have already participated in their own Partnership forums over the last few weeks.
Congressmen Young and Loebsack highlighted the importance of economic development and investment in education and quality of life programs that make Iowa a place people want to live. Each also focused on the importance of broadband access in rural parts of the state.
Congressman Young is Iowa’s only representative on the House Appropriations Committee; he spoke about how important having a voice on that committee is to Iowans. Congressman Loebsack spoke of his commitment to active duty military and veterans and his service on the House Armed Services Committee. Both Congressman Young and Congressman Loebsack expressed support for the Partnership’s federal legislative agenda.
Next week, Governor Kim Reynolds will participate in a forum, registration is open online. The November 1 forum will feature Representative Steve King.
