Jodie McDougal, chair of Davis Brown’s Construction Law department, was appointed to once again serve as Vice-Chair of the Construction Law Section Council during the Iowa State Bar Association’s Annual Meeting, held virtually May 18-20.
Jodie was appointed to the Council in 2017 and was first appointed Vice-Chair in 2019.
Jodie noted, “I look forward to continuing in my role on the Council. I enjoy the opportunity to work with the excellent construction attorneys from across the state, organizing professional education events, facilitating the exchange of expertise and ideas from our respective practices, and monitoring relevant legislation.”
In her role on the Council, Jodie helps organize the annual Construction Law CLE and presents on timely topics of interest. As chair of the Council’s legislative committee, she advocated for passage of a bill to enhance the mechanic’s lien rights of residential contractors.
