HHS Announces Reporting Dates for Provider Relief Funds - July 30, 2020

Last week HHS announced that health care providers who received general or targeted provider relief funds through the CARES Act may begin filing the required reports regarding the use of those funds on October 1, 2020. Details of the reporting requirements will be released by HHS no later than August 17, 2020. These reports will demonstrate a provider’s compliance with the Terms and Conditions of the CARES Act payments. Any provider who received $10,000 or more from the CARES Act relief funds will be required to file a report.

Deadline to report

All providers must report on their expenditures by February 15, 2021. Providers who have not expended all funds by the end of 2020 must file a second, final report by July 31, 2021.

More details to come

The Davis Brown Health Law attorneys will continue to monitor HHS announcements and post further details on the Health Law Blog, including the details of what and how to report.

Providers who have questions regarding how CARES Act funds may be used or accounted for should contact their attorney for guidance.
