Attorney Joe Happe has announced his retirement from Davis Brown.
Since starting his legal practice in 1985, Joe has handled thousands of cases in Iowa district courts, first-chaired almost 100 jury trials, and settled many others to the benefit of his clients in matters ranging from construction and fire-related litigation to workers’ compensation, products liability, and professional negligence cases. Joe also litigated numerous mass tort matters related to asbestos-related products.
Joe began his legal career at Gallagher, Langlas & Gallagher in Waterloo and moved to Huber, Book, Cortese, Happe & Lanz where he became a partner and practiced for over 22 years. Joe moved to Davis Brown in 2011 where he has practiced insurance defense litigation.
Over the last five years, Joe has built a reputation as an excellent mediator. With over 34 years of litigation experience, his background and knowledge help him develop flexible, active and aggressive plans to settle cases.
As he retires from Davis Brown, Joe will maintain his mediation practice and stay active in the Iowa State Bar Association as well as in the community, serving on the Boards of Directors of West Des Moines Human Services and Catholic Charities.
