Davis Brown Law Firm Welcomes Six Summer Associates - June 24, 2020

Six law students have joined Davis Brown for the summer where they will study and work under attorneys at the firm. Each summer associate is paired with an attorney mentor who can answer questions about the ins and outs of working in a law firm, technicalities of the law, and working with senior attorneys. The summer associate program is a valuable learning experience for the law students and is a great benefit to the firm, bringing fresh ideas to the table.




Colleen Anderson will begin her third year at the University of Iowa College of Law this fall. She is originally from Omaha, Nebraska, and earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a dual concentration in Human Resources Management and International Business. She previously interned at Conagra, BuilderTREND Solutions, Union Pacific, and Genesis Health System.




Will Lounsbury will begin his second year student at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University this fall. Will is originally from Des Moines but moved to Oklahoma to earn his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma, studying finance and accounting. During his undergraduate studies, Will interned with R&R Realty Group in West Des Moines as well as Williams Companies in Tulsa and worked as a project manager and job site foreman at the family business, Lounsbury Landscaping Sand & Gravel, last summer before starting law school.




Asher Mitchell will begin his third year at the Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, Missouri, this fall. Asher is originally from Silver Creek, Mississippi, and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in music from the University of Mississippi where he studied classical and jazz saxophone and was active in jazz ensembles. Asher interned with the Missouri State Public Defender last summer.



Rachel Payton will begin her second year at Drake University Law School this fall. Rachel is originally from Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi. Rachel held marketing internships at Mississippi Light Collaborative and the Center for Social Entrepreneurship, both in Jackson. Following graduation, she worked in the marketing field for Champion’s Way Training before starting law school last fall and continues to advise companies and individuals in their social media efforts on a freelance basis.




Rob Servilio will begin his second year at Washington University School of Law this fall. Originally from New Jersey, Rob earned a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Rutgers University and interned at Shanahan & Voigt Law Firm, General Dynamics - Mission Systems, and CACI International during school.

Kelsy Shay will begin her third year at the University of Texas School of Law in Austin this fall. Kelsy is originally from the Kansas City area but graduated from Waukee High School before earning a Bachelor of Science at Iowa State University in both accounting and finance. While at Iowa State, Kelsy was an academic tutor and mentor in the ISU Office of Student-Athlete Development. During law school, Kelsy has worked at Spaulding & Shaull and Belin McCormick.
