Professional Personnel Committee
The Professional Personnel Committee recruits and hires new summer associates, associates, and lateral hires. The committee is elected by the board of directors and is comprised of three shareholders, one associate, and the professional services administrator.
The committee currently includes attorneys: Tara Hall (chair), Sarah Franklin, Sean Raisch, Courtney Strutt Todd, Brian Torresi, and professional services administrator Barb Hardy.
Tara chairs the committee and is a shareholder and member of the Litigation Division. She maintains a general litigation practice including but not limited to business and commercial litigation, employment and labor relations, and litigation and appeals. Tara recently graduated from the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute.
Sarah is a senior shareholder in the litigation division. Her practice includes insurance defense, real estate litigation, employment litigation, fiduciary litigation, and business litigation. She represents clients in administrative hearings, district court hearings and jury trials, as well as appellate proceedings. Her clients include insurance companies, banks, financial institutions, commercial property owners, individual property owners, product designers and manufacturers, and employers.
Sean is the associate representative on the committee. He maintains a general practice including real estate and business transactions, banking and health law. Sean handles various types of residential and commercial construction and real estate matters and works with sellers, buyers, builders, construction companies, and owners on their various construction matters. In the area of real estate, Sean's experience is in foreclosures, loan applications and lease agreements.
Courtney is a shareholder primarily practicing in tax, employee benefits and ERISA, and finance. She also maintains a general business practice, including but not limited to, forming all types of business entities and preparation and review of contracts and policies. Courtney also serves as Vice-President of the firm's Board of Directors.
Brian is a shareholder and lead attorney in the firm's Ames office. He has a general practice that includes, but is not limited to, corporate transactions, real estate, and business litigation. He has an extensive background in many types of real estate matters, both commercial and residential.
